Angela and her family

Hi, I'm Dr. Angela.

I'm a wife, mother of four beautiful children, and a follower of Jesus. I founded Abide Audiology with a simple purpose: to help people hear more clearly, communicate more confidently, and stay connected to the life they love. I believe hearing care should be unhurried, thorough, and built on trust. That's why I take the time to hear your story — not just test your hearing — so we can find solutions that truly fit your life.

I grew up in rural northeast South Dakota and earned my Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of South Dakota in 2016. Over nearly eight years of clinical practice, I worked alongside physicians to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, helping them understand their hearing and how it shapes the way they communicate and connect.

Whether you're noticing changes for the first time or have been managing hearing aids for years, I'm here to walk alongside you with patience and expertise. Every ear is different. Every person is different. Your care should reflect that. Hearing well is living well — let's get you there.

Frequently Asked

How do I know if I need a hearing test?
If you're asking people to repeat themselves, turning the TV up louder, or struggling in noisy environments, it's worth getting checked. I recommend baseline hearing tests for adults over 50 — even if you think your hearing is fine.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
In most cases, no. You can call me directly and schedule an appointment or ask any questions! In some instances, Medicare does require a doctor's order for diagnostic services to be covered.
How long does a hearing evaluation take?
Plan for about 60 minutes for your first visit. We don't rush — I want to do a thorough evaluation and have time to answer all your questions.
What brands of hearing aids do you work with?
We work with all major manufacturers including Phonak, Oticon, ReSound, Starkey, and Widex. I recommend what's best for your specific hearing needs and lifestyle.
How much do hearing aids cost?
Hearing aid prices vary widely based on technology level and features. At Abide Audiology, we work outside of insurance plans for hearing aids. This is actually a very intentional choice — insurance reimbursement structures often dictate which devices I can recommend and limit the time I can spend with each patient. By operating outside of that system, I'm able to recommend whatever is genuinely the best fit for you, not for a coverage policy. I'm happy to walk you through your options and what the investment looks like with bundled and unbundled options.
Do you see children?
Yes! Hearing care for children is one of my passions. I provide pediatric hearing evaluations in a gentle, kid-friendly environment — because early detection truly matters for speech, language, and development. I see children across all ages and stages, from newborn hearing screenings to diagnosing and treating hearing loss with hearing aids. I also evaluate and manage middle ear dysfunction, which is one of the most common (and commonly missed) hearing issues in kids. I work closely with your child's physician to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
What about online/over the counter hearing aids?
OTC hearing aids have made hearing care more accessible — and that's a good thing. But accessible isn't the same as appropriate. OTC devices are designed for adults with mild to moderate hearing loss who can self-manage their care. Without a professional evaluation and fitting, you're making your best guess at a solution without really knowing the problem. A device that isn't matched to your specific hearing profile can leave you frustrated — or convinced that hearing aids just don't work for you. At Abide Audiology, every recommendation starts with a comprehensive evaluation. If an OTC device is genuinely the right fit for your situation, I'll tell you. My goal is the right solution for you — whatever that looks like.
